Amy Winehouse has been found not guilty of assault.
Burlesque dancer Sherene Flash had alleged that the singer became aggressive after being asked to pose for a photo in central London last September.
Winehouse denied the charge, claiming that Flash was drunk and her demands for a photograph intimidating.
City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard how, while backstage at last year’s Prince’s Trust Ball, the pop star agreed to a photo but had wanted to finish a conversation with a friend who was leaving the venue first.
According to Winehouse’s defence team, Flash ignored the pop star’s request to wait and draped herself on the singer.
Scared, Winehouse pushed the dancer away, but defence lawyer Patrick Gibbs claimed that at no point was a punch thrown – a claim corroborated by the statements of many witnesses.
Explaining his client’s alarm, Mr Gibbs said: “Five foot seven in burlesque heels places you at quite an advantage over five foot two in ballet pumps.”
